Is the British Film Industry thriving?

Many believe that the British film industry is indeed thriving, over the past few years British film has undergone a renaissance. The film Atonement was up for 7 Oscars in 2008., and the film This is England appeared on several US critics' top ten movie lists of 2007.

I think that this is because Independant film companieshave no restrictions on what they can show and film, many people are fed up of your typical American action film and look for films with a bit more depth, films that do not necessarily have a happy ending. 

The British film industry has always fluxuated in terms of watching and making films. At the end of the day it is all about money!!! The british film industry is usually financed by the government, some years money id given in shed loads however some years very little is given.


Another part of the film industry is going to see films.

Start of a new project

Now we are starting a new media project looking at the film side of media. I've always had an interest in the film aspect but never knew much about it, so i am hoping that this will give me a greater insight to the goings on of it all =]
